I quote a friend: "I hope he's playing ping-pong in heaven with Mr. Rogers."

All we have left now is Bill Nye.

I liked Beakman, but he was actually an actor and not a scientist or sciency.

Alton Brown was a drama major in college. He's got the best damn sciencey cooking show (I've seen Good Eats compared to Bill Nye quite a bit) ever. And he doesn't even like science!

You are correct sir. If you want to get technical: Magical Fantasy Adventure Popful Mail.

I actually need to shrink it a bit I think. I feel like a douche now that everyone's got smaller ones again.

And yeah, like I said, I liked Beakman, but in the echelon of TV Scientists, the only one who can even try to match Mr. Wizard would be Bill Nye.

He actually did an Eyes of Nye episode about Sex. It was pretty hilarious.

They don't teach you how to do experiments, but they're still cool. Unless you want kids to try shoving pop-rocks and coke into an eviscerated pig stomache at home. They're awesomely better than Brainiac, thank goodness. And that's British.

Also, check your email, consarnit.

Hrm, after doing research, I may have been a little hard on Beakman. The dude is still active in Beakman LIVE! shows (apparently), and he's way into puppetry. He apparently produced that Dante's Inferno puppet cartoon thing.

Also, this is on his website and it's pretty rad:
