I have two legit region 2 dvd's that I just purchased.
I need to know how to burn copies of them into a region 1 form. I imagine I could XVID or MPEG out all of the important video and then put it back into dvd form...but there must be a cleaner way? |

Doesn't your DVD player have a sort of trick to make it read DVDs of any region? _________________ Get Xenoblade Chronicles!

Yeah, I totally thought this would be a thread asking for help in region-hacking your DVD player.
Because unless you bought your DVD player eight years ago, there's almost certainly gonna be a hack code. It's going to go something like: open tray, 4, 3, 6, 8, menu. Then presto, all-region.
As far as region 2 goes, it helps if your player also is able to convert from PAL. |

my dvd players are a PS2 and my PC by way of Nvidia's purevideo.
I don't feel like hacking my ps2.
my PC I could easily buy a second drive for $35 and change it to region 2 and leave it that way but...
...my goal is to be able to play these dvd's in "any" player, not just so that I can watch them at all. so DVD Decrypter sounds like the way to go. |

Several of the Gameshark-like devices for the PS2 offer multi-region DVD playback support, if you're interested. _________________
