OkCupid seems to be in a different vein than match.com, jslut (ya, i'm jewish), or any of those other sites.
And no, don't make an account in parody. There's something romantic and classic about the idea that people can be honest even when it costs them nothing. That said, I'm probably Never going to fill out the actual profile section. |

Oh wow. This thread is still sort of alive. My luck has been hot and cold with OKCupid. 9 times out of 10, I message a girl (or guy) to recommend books or movies based on their profile. Like, seriously, I've hit on so few people there that it's almost annoying when I don't get a response. I'm not really into cruising for poon and I'm just using it to talk to people.
However, I have blocked 415 people in Austin that I simply don't want to talk to. I blocked 700 in Phoenix. Ages 21-31 in both places. I read on the forums that the average girl on the sites gets like 5+ messages a day. When I read that I stopped being upset about not receiving responses.
I've gone on a few dates. Whatever. I'm fairly intolerable of women though and have considered seeing a shrink. I'm not kidding when I say they drive me up the fucking wall. Most of them open their mouth and it doesn't matter what comes out, even if the physical attraction is there I'm just no longer attracted to them. But I know I'm broken, so whatever. I don't like people in general - so that might be the problem.
Anyway, yea, if you get a message from me about a book I think you should read, I'm probably not trying to fuck you. Goddamn, paranoid internet-inexperienced douchebags. |

She's a biologist and is off to Paris, TX this week. I asked if she'd ever seen Paris, TX. She said she'd been there before. I meant the movie. She'd never heard of it. On the bright side, she wants to see it now. Unfortunately, it's a pretty unbearable movie. Mentioning it might've been the wrong move. But then, I wouldn't have found out that she doesn't watch movies.
Also, from talking to her, I suspect people she's dated in the past have treated her like a piece of meat. She's not crazy, but she might be a little broken. |
