This may sound ridiculous -- I'm in no position to tell -- but when I drink a bottle of wine I become a much purer emotional being. I feel like I am sadder and happier for it and everything makes a kind of sense to me. So, I like to drink, if for no other reason than because I want to be drunk by the time I reach the 6th Gunbuster OVA so that its emotional impact (12,000 years later) can be more resonant with me and so I can spend ten minutes or so in quiet, sad-happy reflection while listening to that lovely sad piece from the Naruto soundtrack. If I were typing this while sober, I would be too preoccupied with how ridiculous I sound to be honest at all, and doesn't that make me a better person when intoxicated?

I'm a surly drunk.

I'm a surly everything, but alcohol enhances my surliness.

I like a beer or a bourbon to relax, but if I have too much I'm prone to violent mood swings and bouts of violence against objects both animate and not. \(^_^)/

So I try not to drink too much.

This has been my antidote to your higher state of alcoholic conciousness.
