well i mean it's nothing to travel for. just a bunch of fags kissing and wearing leather and rainbows everywhere. it's still fun as shit though.

There can't be a straight pride fest just like there can't be white power. :(
I don't know any gay people that dress in leather codpieces and have rainbows all over their rooms, so I don't get the gay pride festivals and their purpose. |

Last year I parked myself right around Gay St. and imbibed millions of jello shots distributed by friendly locals.

Along the lines of what zeb said, I might consider attending one of these if it happened in my area, but only because it sounds like a big, exciting spectacle. I'm not sure if this means I'm missing the point, since a "pride festival" for anything would probably be a big, exciting spectacle--and not particularly purport to reflect the daily lives of its participants, only their values (in some vague way). Maybe I just don't get it, though.

not that i'm not used to doing a lot of walking. i'm just worried i won't be able to keep up. like in march a bunch of us went down to the sutro baths in san francisco and i was straggling way behind while aderack leapt nimbly amongst the skeletal walls of ancient, abandoned bathhouses. and then we climbed up this cliff and when we got to the top he was like oops we can't get to the parking lot from here better go back down and i was like waugh! anyway there might be only like four of us so i might end up holding the banner for our group and i do not want to be slowing down the banner. also it's murder walking that far in my boots and walking the dyke march in anything else is out of the question.

my friend's dad was in town on business a few years ago and pride week was going on at the same time and the hotel he was staying in was full of 'mos so for laughs my friend and his dad walked out of the hotel holding hands.
