Like, half a dozen really excellent folks are immediately springing to mind, so I would guess there must be in actuality a cool dozen of such caliber.

...really bothered me for a while. I'm pretty sure I posted at least one enormous rant about how inane it all was. Eventually I tried to just ignore it, like the constant flame-war drama-fests.
I took a weekend off and when I came back, the forum was gone.
That's the thing, Internetics: for many of us, these are the insert credit forums, even if we're no longer associated with that domain.

Isn't this how it usually works? I mean, okay, the IC forums got most of their users because of stuff like Penny Arcade linking the Journalism feature and Drew moving over to do the letters column. Still, most of the sites I visit come from word-of-mouth--either one of my friends introduces me to it, or it's linked by a website I'm already reading.
If most of these people are "debasing" the place, as you put it, is that more damning of them, or of us? After reading this thread, I feel it's the latter.
