Bruin, honestly, if you want a ride down with them to our party then you're invited! Simple as that! _________________

If everyone's naked and doing coke, it'll be plenty uncomfortable for me, too.
You should seriously consider coming. I don't know about you, but I haven't been to a real New Year's party for years. Just because I've been around in this online community for years doesn't mean I won't be uncomfortable socially at first. Also, I'll be away from any kind of solitary comfort zone for days, which is something I'm not accustomed to. But this promises to be a rollicking good time with lots of good folks. And we'll have a nice, long road trip for bookends; another body means more company and having gas split further. It's good for everyone involved to have you along. Plus, if you want to make friends here, what better way than to take this opportunity to meet everyone in person?
So really think about it. |

| Yeah, bruin, I would just do it. When I went last year, I barely knew any of these people, but now I consider them all friends. It is just a good time with a bunch of interesting people who all happen to occasionally rock some nerd-dom on the internet, but who also do a wide variety of other happy fun stuff. It's good times, and it makes me feel good about SB that shit like this happens. |

True, true. though the save for this was on my old (dead) hard drive, so we would have to start all over again. So what this means is we need a different terrible game to play. |

smartblue is working on a playlist for the downstairs so people can go down there and hang out if the hustle and bustle of the upstairs is not to their liking. |

well yeah, and this is good, but I am thinking that in order to facilitate the lack of gaming upstairs (which I think is a good goal for a party to have) something else needs to take it's place.
We had a live DJ, yes, but he was isolated away from where people came into the scene, as it were, where I think he would have worked better, and gotten more love on the first floor. The dude was spinning some good stuff, too, from what I can bring for from that drunk haze. |

It'll work out fine man, you're overthinking this. There will be things to do and people to talk to and what not. I mean, it's probably not goint to be 100% game free since people played wii sports a lot last year and there will be some nice friendly games we can throw in (rock band, third stwike, etc) and relax to.
There's also Rockanoid. _________________

I was thinking we need terrible plastic party items (hats, glasses, etc), should I scope these out? _________________ “We completely understand the public’s concern about futuristic robots feeding on the human population, but that is not our mission,” - Harry Schoell, Cyclone Power Technologies Inc, in response to erroneous reports about a robot under development. |

A reminder to those packing: be prepared for wacky Ohio valley weather! Cold fronts can hit fast and hard so it might rain at 70 degrees one day and snow at 30 the next!
Also: pack towels and a pillow to use! We have a stack of blankets almost as tall as I am (I have no idea where they came from) so that should be okay! _________________

But say I do, how do you guys feel about me bringing a friend who has never posted here before? I mean I don't even know if he'd want to go but I thought I'd ask here first. _________________

So I just bought my plane tickets.
I'm arriving on the 29th at, uh, 11:38 PM in Louisville. Midnight, basically.
Would that be too late to obtain a ride from the airport to the house/party/whatever?
EDIT: I'm leaving on the 5th at 6:00 AM and will need a ride to the airport also. _________________ Man, I'm sorry. |

I'll have to go to work Monday morning. :(
Come home, sleep.
Wake up, go back to house for NYE party.
Go to work Tuesday morning. |

But it means that I don't have to be the only sober person at NYE! |

| In all seriousness, should I bring any games or DVDs? I know this isn't going to be a drunken West Wing marathon, but I probably have some stuff people could like. I mean, I could bring three seasons of Batman: The Animated Series, which could be good background material. I guess bringing my DS Lite and games would be a good idea. What else? I don't think I have any real rarities. SotN for PS-X? Ikaruga for GCN? Rez for PS2? Tell me what to do. |

| on that note, is a TF2 LAN a conceivable thing? i'm thinking, here, and that's about the only reason i could come up with to bring my laptop (which i am not at all hesitant to do). |

You might want to bring your laptop anyway since we have a really bitchin share here for this and that. That pretty much goes for everyone else.
Also unless you're talking PC games, we're pretty much okay on console stuff. You are all welcome to bring what you like, but honestly things will be somewhat crowded around here, especially on the night of, and with that comes the higher chance that things will be misplaced if you bring a lot of stuff. _________________

| portables are good to bring, but otherwise i'd leave your stuff at home, unless it's something completely left field that is something that you've probably only seen! we have a lot of things planned, not only for the night of the party, but for the days surrounding it (since most of you are staying the weekend or more) so i wouldn't worry too much about bringing entertainment. |
