OKAY MY PLANS FOR NEXT WEEK ARE STARTING TO TAKE SHAPE
The date is December 28th, 2006!
I'll probably be working until 6pm, so keeping a bit of time to set up in mind I'm thinking to have people show up at... 7:30 to 8-ish?
You all know where I live! But in case you've all forgotten it is at:
210 Victoria Street, at the northwest corner of Victoria and Shuter!
220 is the hotel, but my apartment shares the same main entrance! You enter the hotel on the left and the apartments on the right. So, on the right it is.
Apartment 618!
If you get lost you can call me at 416-880-8889!
Does anybody mind having to chip in a bit for booze? The drinks should be a lot more interesting that way!
oh yeah, and post a reply if you're showing up so I can figure out how much food and booze to prepare |

Ed I won't be able to make this one, but we'll see about something early in the new year, hopefully. My plans for next week are still kind of... Up in the air.
GOOD NEWS THOUGH
Gamerama fixed my PS2 by today! I was able to trade games to pay off the cost of the repair ($70) too! I haven't really tried it out very hard (slightly scared) but It at least boots games now. Might consider finding out how annoying/expensive it is to fit a hard drive so I don't have to wear this lazer out too... _________________ "Did you read that mr. ignorant new games journalist? Aww, that's too bad. Good news about the PS2 thing though! Double bonus if the games you traded in were all shitty review copies you didn't want to play anyway!!

Yeah, what I'm figuring right now is that if everybody brings something different (which probably means something other than beer would be better, but it's up to you in the end!) we can have a variety of different drinks around for quite the interesting night! I'm also budgeting a fair bit of my own money for this, so, yeah. PREPARE TO BE DRUNK.
Also can you bring your wiimote/nunchuck combo? |

Ed! I'm sorry to do this, but a family thing has come up and I can't commit to Friday. I'm really sorry to bail out after saying I'd be there, but I hope you'll understand. _________________ Illustration Portfolio | The Gamer's Quarter |

Though, uh, any chance I can borrow your wiimote for the evening anyway? x_x |

Sorry, Ed, I didn't see your post!
Happy New Year's everyone! We watched the countdown at city hall on CityTV while, you know, it was happening five minutes away. We got to at least see the glow of the fireworks off the buildings nearby! _________________ Illustration Portfolio | The Gamer's Quarter |

Well, okay, options:
1) Meet somewhere, like the shitty arcade on Yonge, and whatnot
2) Head to someone's place
3) Get piss-drunk in an alley and rough up some cops
I'd be happy to have you guys over tomorrow if you don't want to meet outside somewhere. A lot warmer at my place, and I'm pretty well set-up already (Wii, 360, PS2, Super Famicom, DS, etc.). Just bring controllers and games, and we can hang out.
What do you think? _________________ Illustration Portfolio | The Gamer's Quarter |

Any of that sounds good to me.
Should I bring my Guitar Hero controller and/or the original game? And we should totally Konamiize the meet up somehow... Does anyone have a Contra or a Gradius or something else multiplayer? There's definitely a drinking game in there somewhere. I'll have to stop by the shops after work and see what I can find.

I have a GH guitar and a copy of GH2, so bring #1 and another guitar if you like.
As for Konami... uh, I have lots of Silent Hill, and some MGS and Castlevania. I only have the Contra demo, but I guess we could play that? Oh! My PSX-based NES emulator might have some classic Contra on it. We could play that two-player for sure, if it's on there. Oh and I do have some DDR! (I think I only have one pad right now, though.)
We'll need to take photos/video for FKW! I can only take photos, so if you have a video-enabled camera, please bring it!
Do you remember how to get to my place? Do you have any Super Famicom games? If you have any GameCube stuff that would be appropriate, we could play that on the Wii.
What say you, Aerisdead? Think Konami! _________________ Illustration Portfolio | The Gamer's Quarter |

Ach, is this for the 22nd or the 13th? turns out I'm better if we stick with the original plan. _________________ "Did you read that mr. ignorant new games journalist? YOU JUST DON'T FUCKING GET IT. "

Ooooookay, I'm getting confused here. Let's just stick with the 22nd, then. Colour_Thief, I'll PM you directions before then.
EDIT: I'm home because I didn't feel well (don't worry, it's nothing contagious). Thus, I am somewhat bored. If anyone still wants to pop by today, that's fine by me. Just give me a call/send me an email and let me know. _________________ Illustration Portfolio | The Gamer's Quarter |

Oh hey, I did end up going to Gamarama. While I didn't score any Konami games, I was able to get God Hand and Ico used for $20 each. Ico for $20!!
...So far I'm liking God Hand more though. |

Okay, so I'm fairly set to do something on Thursday; nothing should come up last minute. I suggest we GUITAR HERO SHIT UP.
I have 2 guitars and both games, people could come to mine but I'm northerly and I rarely leave the house so I'll put it to the floor where anyone wants to go - if no one else sez "my place is ideal" we can go to mine.
I can also bring Wii controllers (3!) and Wii games other folks might not have (Play, Wario Ware, etc.)
Let's rock! _________________ "Did you read that mr. ignorant new games journalist? YOU JUST DON'T FUCKING GET IT. "

I thought we were doing this at my place? I will correct that; we are doing this at my place. The 22nd. Like, commit, people; I have better things to do than to wait around for people to make up their minds. I will restate: I have GH2 and a guitar, so we only need one more guitar for mutiplay, and a copy of GH1 would be nice.
We will play Wii as well. (We'll have to make a Colour_Thief Mii if he doesn't already have one.) If anyone has a second Classic Controller, bring that too. Bring booze too, if you want it (I do!).
Don't forget, C_T, I have that copy of Ibara that you're welcome to jam on. It would be interesting to see that crack-addled puzzle-and-shooter brain of yours go to work. _________________ Illustration Portfolio | The Gamer's Quarter |

Committing.
If I bring Guiness will you guys drink it? I love the stuff but I'll bring something else if you prefer.
And Mat, since I have Guitar Hero 1 and a guitar, I can complete the set for maximum rockage. It sounds like you've got a load of Wii stuff to bring already so don't worry about these... I've got them covered.
Somebody wake up Ed! |

ROCKING and ROLLING guys. This sounds like it will be fun. I don't know what kind of more-than-two-player Xbox 360 games I have (Doom? Halo 2?) but if you want to bring any 360 pads over, Aerisdead, that would be cool. I have two of my own.
Guinness is good! I will provide something else as well for a little variety. Maybe with the promise of booze, we can convince Equalix to come. _________________ Illustration Portfolio | The Gamer's Quarter |
