|
|
When I was about 12 I was at my friend Leo's house while his babysitter (probably around 22?) was trying on dresses or something with Leo's mom. He had snuck into the closet just outside his mother's bedroom door and was spying on this babysitter in states of undress. I can't recall exactly how he managed to get in there while I was someplace else, but I tried to sneak in there too but they saw me. I got up and ran out of the house and literally jumped on my bike and rode home without saying a word. It was never mentioned again.
This was a spectacular failure. |

i did something like that once when i was 10 or 11 at a friend's house, except I got away with it.
i can't really think of any SPECTACULAR failures i've done before, but i'm sure i've done many more than i care to remember. |

| Obviously I am the only person here who ever spectacularly failed at anything. No wonder I am depressed all the time. |

Couldn't you qualify your brother's entire life as a spectacular failure? |

Toups when I was like 8 I used to flash my babysitter. She never came back again after a couple times and I played goofy word games with the next babysitter.

I drove 1,369 miles to try and salvage a long distance relationship. It didn't work, and by the time I left to go back I didn't particularly care if it worked out anymore anyway.
Then I drove another 1,369 miles back home again.
This was a spectacular failure. At least when I put it in those terms. There were upsides, too, don't get me wrong. But that's one way of looking at it. _________________

All of the however many posts I've done here between the lurking. Not saying that in a depressed woe is me way, just that my voice in forum writing is fucking awful.
I've had a lot of spectacular near-failures. In elementary school my mom was about to dig through my porn-laden backpack. Got her attention, told her she couldn't look because I had a present in there for her, and never mentioned anything of it ever again.
I've had a dozen or so "____ The Musical!" ideas that would fail to different extents. Camus The Musical was my favorite. |

Jurassic Park: The Musical owns all
Do it Lion King-style, with the sort of open suit/prosthetic things
The Velociraptors would be the dancers! OUTTA SIGHT
Spectacular failure: for all four years of college, pretty much every other weekend I would drive two hours up and two hours back to pick up my long-distance girlfriend on Friday, then on Sunday two hours up and two hours back to drop her off again. Then two months before graduation I suddenly break up with her.

I failed getting my university-entrance diploma nearly two times (which would have meant I couldn't have another shot at getting it), though I managed to do so this year - finally. Not a failure then, since I did manage to get it, though some consider (because of wasting 4-5 years) that I did fail ...
A "spectacular" failure then ... would having wasted seven years to get one girl to like me qualify as a spectacular failure (which was "the one and only girl" till now)?
Top Gun: The Musical could be as good as Jurassic park: The Musical, could it? Singing F-14 duelling some MIGs ... wouldn't be as cool as dancing Velocirapters, heh. _________________

Why not using SONDERKRAFTFAHRZEUG (nadesico-reference here) and Sturzkampfbomber as well? Add BLITZKRIEG and Kindergarten and you're ready to go. _________________

its weird most nerd types have trouble talking to people but jump in forums and do pretty well. Im the exact opposite. I find real life relations easy and yet I desire to take part in a forum (this forum) or what have you but just never get how its done. I cant be myself online. I fail at internet. _________________ Mixtapes galore ~ VG MUSIC

You aren't yourself offline all the time as well, I suppose? Like, you play a different "role" if your boss/whatever is around, whereas you "are yourself" if you are with friends/your significant other.
Being on a forum is exactly the same like having around different people, depending on how well you know them, you adapt differently (though I suppose you'll never talk to people on the interwebs like you would talk to your boss, heh). _________________

I had a crush on this girl who lived next door to my best friend.
One year I dressed up as Space Ghost from Space Ghost Coast to Coast for Halloween, which in retrospect is really pretty cool. I looked a lot better than the crappy costume they actually used in Cartoon Planet.
We went over to my friends house and ended up trick or treating with this girl. Somehow the fact I dressed up as Space Ghost made her think so little of me she never talked to me again after that day. |

| Don't feel too bad, its just millions of years of evolution conspiring to make you feel like shit if a woman won't let you impregnate her. If you think about it, it doesn't really make sense anymore to worry about it. |

This was probably the only pop culture fad I was ever too early on (or even on time) on. I did this in seventh grade, which would've been... 1995? She probably had no idea who I was supposed to be and didn't get the joke.
I also didn't quite do the Space Ghost figure justice, but I filled the outfit with lots of paper to simulate muscles and wore sweat pants not tights so there should have been no trouble there. |

I don't know if internet people honestly assume this or just pretend to so they can bitch about something or pretend your point doesn't count because you were clearly harboring a deep seeded hatred or screaming at your monitor. |
