|
|
Its coming up apparently? I don't understand a made up holiday so that internet age brats can feel cool about something that no else quite knows about or understands. Not to mention any pirate jokes got buried a long, long time ago.
Usually I'm not vocal about silly things like this, but I'm afraid I knew too many people in college that thought it was cool of them to beat Pirates and "All your Base" jokes dead five times over. |

You'd think talk like a Ninja day would have immediately caught on as a way to shut people up. _________________ I can no longer shop happily. |

I think that kind of logic would blow their minds once they realize it would prevent them from being annoying. |

Since when were pirates something only a few people on the internet are in the know about?
Anyway, every joke became dead and buried once the internet came along. |

Not pirates themselves, the idea of Talk Like a Pirate Day.
And most folks don't throw pirates around with such dizzy glee as these folks. Not even Jack Sparrow fans! |

| In my first year of highschool it was kind of beneficial to me since it provided an easy means for differentiating between people who are quirky and decent (either ignored it or made a pirate like comment here or there) and people who are just fucking annoying (spoke in that manner all day or went far enough to dress like pirates). |

i like pirates but i fucking hate that dialect
talk like a viking day is awesome. you don't pronounce anything differently, you just act like you can crush anyone who gets in your way. you celebrate this day whenever you feel like it. |

| actually, it's missing the "yahooo!" your cabin boy yells at the end of every stage, as well as the giant talking pirate skull congratulating you with a nice "YOU GOT IT" |

Senior year in high school I was the announcer of the daily bulletin over the school's intercom. I tried to gag it up to keep things interesting, so I did the whole thing pirate style exactly a year ago. It was godawful. I sounded like a bad Irish impersonation with a scratchy throat. And nobody listened to the bulletin anyway.
It was then I decided I will never celebrate 9/19 or give a crap about pirates ever again. |
