YO.

So I was digging through some old clothes that I'd had in storage for a few years, and I came across some jeans that my grandmother had bought me right after I'd graduated from high school. (This was ten years ago.) I figured I'd just donate them to the Salvation Army, but, on a whim, I decided to try them on.

And holy shit! They fit perfectly.

I'm about 5'7" and I weigh about 150 lbs. I can't find shirts or pants that aren't a little loose anywhere, and I need help SB. =( Note that the jeans that finally fit were those bought when I was 17. (30 waist, 30/31 length.) I hate shopping in the older boys' section of clothing stores, so I'd love to find an adult men's store that carries clothes my size. (Most of the collared button-up shirts I find in department stores fit like lab coats, FYI.)

SO. Now that I'm almost 28, please help me make the transition to adulthood SB. Where can I buy some goddamn fitting clothes?

Order Asian and European clothes online.

Shop at the Boy's Section in Macy's. I just found this out last week that they actually carry fashionable boy's clothes that don't look like boy's cloths (part of the time.) I got a really nice jacket.

But yeah move to Japan. 5'8" and 50 kilos.

People like us rarely find deals on the discount rack. :< Gap XS shirts fit me without stretching and S button ups fit without being too baggy. That being said, a lot of generic button ups like van heusen just don't fit properly. Don't be sad kids, there's always alterations for cheap. VERTICAL DARTING! WOO! And if you have a willing friend in textile design maybe they'll help you out, too. Also: if you lose weight you'll have to wear a belt with some of those pants that used to fit perfectly. I lost 5 pounds and now half my pants are hanging off my ass without a belt >:( Happy cloths hunting, fellow slim and short dudes.

I sympathize, brothers. 5'5" here, 120 pounds.

I used to weigh just a hair over a hundred, but the medication I was on made me gain a lot of weight :(

6'2" 245 and I've just started squatting my own weight (3x10, not max).

But, I too have trouble finding proper attire. My legs are very long, so it's tough to find pants that don't end at my ankles without going into 40"+ waists. I've been reduced to getting mine from the internet when possible, or taking a chance at Marshall's. I currently wear 38", but I expect that will drop soon at the current exercise rate.

Yeah I'm pretty shocked how SHORT all american pants are. You ought to try Uniqlo, they take orders over the phone and their jeans/pants come in 34" length.

Gap usually have lots of 30/31 jeans/trousers... but me being in the UK doesn't help matters. I often have to take a 34 and a 36 to the changing rooms, cos I'm closer to an inconvenient 35.

i think most shops here (i.e. holland) sell those sizes, going by what i see when i help a friend shopping for trousers.
not that that's much use for you...
feeling your pain though, 5'9˝" + 112lbs isn't easy either.

GAP has crazy vanity-sizing -- add the appropriate two inches to the waist and it suddenly becomes harder to find things that fit. Not to mention that their clothes are generally cut for -- ah -- heavier people.

I'm 5' 8" and 130, hoping to gain weight but from my experience that's pretty much impossible when cycling.

I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this thread.

If nothing else this thread serves the important function of making men of average height/somewhat heavy build feel like colossi.

I still don't understand why people for whom the thread title is irrelevant still click. Boredom, perhaps?

i second rud13's suggestion of moving to another country

alternatively you can wear a child's clothes

man have you ever tried buying "small" tshirts from a store like target? i could use those things as bedsheets.

Stores in the mall that sell XS mens: Hot Topic (You can get nice dress shirts sometimes), Aeropostale, Guess.

I like Guess personally, but some of that shit is mad expensive.

Also! Check Womens section. I have like 6 plaid button up shirts meant for the fairer gender. The only one that can tell they are women's shirts are people that know dress makers code.

by the way, if you aren't too cool for levi's, you can mail order pretty much any size of anything they sell. as long as you don't buy any of those pre-worn out ones, they'll last forever and look pretty good while they're at it.

i've always vastly preferred lee's to levi's, for what that's worth.

as far the buying children clothes thing: that's only ever worked out for me with shorts (wherein it works admirably).

5'9˝ 133 lbs., by the way (29x31)

glitch i thought i was skinny but i have no idea how i would drop 20 lbs.

“Resin Bake” crease – a relatively new finishing treatment. The process seeks to replicate the look of permanent creases which normally would occur only after repeated wear and abuse heaped on specific areas.

Example: http://item.rakuten.co.jp/sanshin/eg503-526/ on the thighs below the pockets.

I should get someone to send me another pair of these, I love them.

Well, no, I haven't found any yet, but I haven't had time to shop since creating this thread either!

Strange as it might sound, though, I've actually got a few clothing catalogues from Japanese manufacturers, through some of my business. I flipped back through them and mostly saw stuff that didn't jive with my preferred styles; they've got a lot of patched/stained/torn jeans, and I figure that getting your jeans in that condition is half the fun. But there are a few things in there that work for me, so I might see about investing some money in them when that money gets available.

Still doesn't replace being able to walk into a men's department and get what suits you though.
